Dear students and colleagues,
I am deeply saddened to share with you that the body of Lauren Blackburn ’26 was found at Lake Carnegie this morning. Our hearts are heavy and we share our deepest condolences with Lauren’s family and friends.
It is during these difficult times that we must draw strength and support from one another and from those in our community who are available to us for counsel and care. Students should not hesitate to reach out to Counseling and Psychological Services (which can be reached 24 hours a day at 609-258-3141), Office of Religious Life chaplains, residential college staff, and Graduate School staff. Faculty and staff can seek support by calling Carebridge at (800) 437-0911.
We invite those students who wish to gather, support one another, and reflect to assemble… [Details provided to students via email]. Deans from the Office of Religious Life, counselors from Counseling and Psychological Services, and residential college staff will be available.
We know that every member of our community joins us in sending our condolences to Lauren’s family, friends, and loved ones and in wishing them strength in this most difficult time.
Sincerely,
Regan Crotty
Dean of Undergraduate Students
