The Office of the Vice President for Campus Life drives initiatives that enhance the Princeton student experience, align with the University's Strategic Planning process, and implement recommendations from University-wide task forces and reports.     

To accomplish these initiatives, Campus Life staff collaborate with colleagues across the University community on several standing and ad hoc committees.

Administrative Strategic Planning Team/Campus Life Metrics

This working group is reviewing how we collect transactional and impact on learning data in Campus Life, with the goal of proposing a more streamlined, coordinated, and comprehensive way to do so going forward.  In addition to supporting this Campus Life initiative, the working group will also supply the data needed by the president’s Administrative Strategic Planning Team.

Task Force on the Residential College Model

This task force is reviewing and assesses the strengths and weaknesses of the University's current college model and engage in "blue-sky" thinking on several topics. In particular, the task force is asked to explore the following areas creatively: (1) the ideal size and composition of the residential colleges and (2) the best ways in which the residential colleges can provide students with social and intellectual community, engagement, support, advising and mentorship.

Service and Civic Engagement Self-Study

This task force is charged with conducting a self-study of service and civic engagement opportunities for students at the University. It is expected that the committee's work will include an analysis of the service and civic engagement initiatives that the University currently supports for students; an exploration of national and international trends, including benchmarking with peer institutions; and the identification of challenges and opportunities to make service central to the University's mission.

Professional Development: Diversity and Inclusion Committee

The work of diversity and inclusion in the Campus Life division falls to every member of the staff.  This committee developed a three year plan for increasing diversity and inclusion efforts in the areas of recruitment and employment brand, managing performances and developing current employees, training and competency building, climate and inclusive culture, and the engaging of leaders and measuring progress.   The plan describes the corresponding tasks, measurements, and responsible parties for implementation and evaluation and the committee ensures that each task is completed.
